Environmental Policy
Ferry Row B&B is committed to working in a sustainable way to provide a safe, healthy and comfortable place for all who come here. We invite our guests to help us minimise the impact we have on the local and global environment.
Therefore we choose to:-
- comply with the requirements of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice
- continue to seek ways to improve our performance
- reduce consumption of energy, water and other resources
- reduce waste by re-using and re-cycling whenever possible using local authority and other sources of collection
- reduce pollution by the use of eco-friendly cleaning products
- eliminate food waste by vermi-culture and home composting
- support local environmental initiatives such as Fairlie Parish Church Eco-congregation, Organic Growers of Fairlie and Fairlie Fairtrade Initiative
- support national and global movements for environmental improvement such as the Soil Association, Fairtrade, the Campaign for Climate Change and the RSPB
- use ethical banking systems
- raise awareness of these issues by example and by provision of relevant magazines and leaflets
- join the Green Tourism Business scheme
